Having fun - Glynis Macri

Glynis Macri has been visiting Italy for the past 20 years absorbing all that the country has to offer in the way of food and wine education.

She recently sold the magazine Italianicious, which she owned with two partners Italianicious was a magazine for Italophiles in Australia (though the magazine sold in 19 countries). The magazine was about food wine and travel and living in Italy. It gave advice to travelers wanting basic to five star accommodation. Her frequent trips to Italy gave Glynis plenty of material to write many articles about living the sweet life in Italy - La Dolce Vita and another plus, she never mentioned Silvia Berlusconi once!

She has travelled to every region in Italy except one, Valle d’Aosta – she’s planning on that very soon.

With over 75 trips under her belt there isn’t much that she doesn’t know about Italy and the Italian wine industry. She has been asked to judge at Vinitaly on five different occasions and she visits Tuscany each year to take part in the Ante Prima of Chianti, Vino Nobile and Brunello wines. She has studied cooking with Paola di Mauro, the well known Italian cook from Lazio who has trained many international chefs the secrets of Italian cooking. She has also learnt how to make pasta at two schools in Bologna and worked with 'Tutti A Tavola' in Italy and Australia.

She has worked for both the Italian Chamber of Commerce and the Italian Trade Commission as a consultant.
